Baseball Recap: Church Farm Takes a Loss

Church Farm was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Collegium Charter Cougar, falling 14-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Griffens of the 10-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Church Farm saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savion Weaver-Diaz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Ruben Rios also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Church Farm's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Collegium Charter, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Church Farm will venture away from home to face off against The Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Church Farm's pitchers better be ready for this one: The Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Collegium Charter, they will head out on the road to square off against Renaissance Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.88 runs per game on average), something the Cougar will no doubt try to take advantage of.
