Soccer Game Preview: Houston vs. Redington

The Houston Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Redington Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Houston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Grace Christian, who was ranked tenth at the time (Houston was ranked 14th). The Hawks lost 5-1 to the Grizzlies on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten goals in the game before, Houston couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Redington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Homer, falling 5-0.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Redington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Houston took their victory against Redington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
