Soccer Game Preview: Richland vs. Walla Walla

The Richland Bombers will challenge the Walla Walla Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland's last six matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Richland is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Lewis & Clark on Tuesday. The Bombers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Lewis & Clark are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Walla Walla lost 4-1 to Kennewick on Tuesday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Walla Walla were already down 4-1.

Richland dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Walla Walla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Richland came out on top in a nail-biter against Walla Walla in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Bombers repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
