Washington County played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They put the hurt on the Bardstown Tigers with a sharp 9-1 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ashtyn Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kynslee Hughes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Loren Frantz, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Washington County's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Bardstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Washington County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
