Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Christian Academy Patriots vs. Bethel Academy

The Clinton Christian Academy Patriots will challenge Bethel Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Clinton Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Bethel Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Clinton Christian Academy will bounce into Monday's match after beating Heartland, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Clinton Christian Academy managed a 40-35 victory over Heartland on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Clara Hyke was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Audrey Foster was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Bethel Academy played a tough contest back in December of 2024 in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Center Place, falling 40-19. Bethel Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clinton Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Kayla Touokong, one of several Bethel Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points along with seven boards and seven blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Liberty Atkins, who had seven points.

Bethel Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Clinton Christian Academy, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-5.
