Baseball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Comes Up Short

Wiregrass Ranch lost against McKeel Academy last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls fell just short of the McKeel Academy Wildcats by a score of 3-1. The Bulls' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Wiregrass Ranch got a good showing from Chris Hong, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Hong has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Wiregrass Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for McKeel Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Wiregrass Ranch and McKeel Academy's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Wiregrass Ranch will take on Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 2.83 runs per game. Wiregrass Ranch's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so McKeel Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, McKeel Academy and Berkeley Prep (who has only given up two runs per game) will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
