Baseball Recap: Champion Beats Southeast for Their Third Straight Win

Champion owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southeast Pirates, sneaking past 1-0. The win was nothing new for the Golden Flashes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Dylan Howell, who gave up just four hits to keep Southeast off the board. Howell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Champion's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bradey Quinby, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Champion pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Champion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
