Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Westlake Academy's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Weatherford Christian came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Westlake Academy, but Maya Sonday wouldn't allow it. The Westlake Academy Blacksmiths walked away with a 45-35 win over the Weatherford Christian Lions on Thursday thanks in part to Sonday, who posted 26 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Westlake Academy's points.

Westlake Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Weatherford Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Westlake Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-30 victory against Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool on the 5th. As for Weatherford Christian, they will welcome Fort Worth THESA at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
