Basketball Recap: Chattahoochee Falls Despite Big Games from Brooklinne Dorr and Laila West

Chattahoochee was the 57-44 winner over Milton when they last played one another back in December of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Chattahoochee Cougars received a blow on Friday as they fell 53-34 to the Milton Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Eagles are ranked 53rd).

Despite the defeat, Chattahoochee had strong showings from Laila West, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and three steals, and Brooklinne Dorr, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Dorr is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Chattahoochee's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Milton, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Chattahoochee will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Arabia Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Milton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-52 loss against River Ridge on the 14th.
