Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Dragons vs. Madison Cubs
The Silver Creek Dragons had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Madison by a score of 78-65 on Friday. Given Silver Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Cubs are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Silver Creek found their leader in underclassman Kasen Daeger, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Daeger has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Nate Davidson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Mason Davis, who scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon True, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Silver Creek's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th.
