Soccer Game Preview: James Wood vs. Kettle Run

James Wood has won three straight games at home, while Kettle Run has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Colonels will welcome the Cougars at 7:00 p.m.

James Wood fell victim to Sherando and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that James Wood have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Kettle Run kept a clean sheet against Liberty on Tuesday. They blew past the Eagles 8-0. Give Kettle Run's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Liberty from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Gloria Malloy led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

James Wood's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Kettle Run, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

James Wood skirted past Kettle Run 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Colonels repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
