Recap: Ontario Tigers vs. Payette Pirates
The Ontario Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Payette on the road and fell 49-13. Ontario has not had much luck with Payette recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Payette was led to victory by Sianna Gable and Bella Nunez. Gable scored 11 points along with five assists and three steals, while Nunez scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Marie Auxier, who scored two points.
Ontario bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Payette, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Ontario will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Payette at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Payette, they will head out on the road to face off against Weiser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
