St. Clairsville extended their winning streak to six on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 7-1 in the process. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Bellaire Big Reds. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

As for Bellaire, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely St. Clairsville, Barnesville, and Martins Ferry.

For Bellaire's part, Landon Preston made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Preston is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Riley Zonker also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Clairsville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-0 win against Barnesville on the 17th. As for Bellaire, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Martins Ferry on the 17th.
