South River's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Chesapeake Cougars 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 two weeks ago.

Addie Binko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, South River's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was CJ Harris, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Hanna Grambo was another, going 3-for-4 with one double.

South River's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Chesapeake, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

South River wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-1 win against Glen Burnie on the 9th. As for Chesapeake, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-0 victory against Southern on the 9th.
