Volleyball Recap: Ryan Comes Up Short

Ryan's tournament run continued when they took on Azle on Saturday. The Raiders fell 2-0 to the Hornets. The match marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Ryan lost, don't look at Abigail Vasquez. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs. Vasquez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 17 times she's played. Jadyn Ward also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Ryan and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Azle, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Ryan has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Creekview on the 19th. As for Azle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against North Forney on the 16th.
