Basketball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. The contest between them and the San Diego Cavers didn't end well, with the Hoover Cardinals falling 60-46. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-33 back in January.

Isaiah Marte continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for San Diego, going 9 of 19 en route to 25 points and five rebounds. Marte's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Chianu Masters was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for San Diego, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Hoover will challenge Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Hoover surely won't give up without a fight. As for San Diego, they have already played their next matchup, a 65-49 loss against Montgomery on the 8th.
