Read Butler put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Monday. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.

Even though Butler couldn't lead Boyd-Buchanan over Silverdale Academy, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd-Buchanan has some work to do to even out the 2-8 series between these two since March of 2022, but a win here would be a good start.
