Recap: Boonville Pioneers vs. Evansville Christian Eagles

On Friday, Boonville took a serious blow against Evansville Christian, falling 65-36. While losing is never fun, Boonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Evansville Christian is ranked 42nd).

Evansville Christian had a senior duo take command as Josiah Dunham scored 19 points along with nine assists and three steals and Luke Davis dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Dunham has scored at least 25% of Evansville Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Lynn, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Boonville and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Evansville Christian, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Boonville will be home for the holidays to greet North Posey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Posey has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. Evansville Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Princeton at 12:30 p.m. on December 16th. Princeton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Evansville Christian likes a good challenge.
