Preview: Faith Academy Flames vs. Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders
The Faith Academy Flames will play host again and welcome the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 519 points over their last eight matches.
Even though Live Oak Classical scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, Faith Academy still came out on top. Faith Academy snuck past Live Oak Classical with a 61-56 victory.
Meanwhile, Round Rock Christian Academy came up short against Brazos Christian on Saturday and fell 64-51. Round Rock Christian Academy has not had much luck with Brazos Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Jayden Eckert put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 4-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Wes Owens was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Faith Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
Faith Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Round Rock Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 76-70 victory.
