Volleyball Recap: Champion Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Southeast Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Champion ultimately came up short, they really made Southeast work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 27-25, 25-23.

Tara Johnson paced Champion's offense, picking up five kills. Johnson got some help from Zoe Patelle and her ten assists. Finally, Kennedy McKee kept Champion's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Champion's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Southeast, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.

Coming up, Champion will square off against Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast has already played their next match (against Ravenna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
