Baseball Game Preview: Cypress Woods Wildcats vs. Cypress Falls Eagles

The Cypress Woods Wildcats will challenge the Cypress Falls Eagles at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games Cypress Woods has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Cypress Woods is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since April 19, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Steele, sneaking past 4-2. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Cypress Falls took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Everything went their way against Langham Creek as Cypress Falls made off with a 6-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted since March 12, 2024.

Cypress Falls got a great performance from Jack Gulley as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Xavier Izaguirre was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Owen Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Cypress Woods' record is now 3-0-1. As for Cypress Falls, their record is now 1-0.

Cypress Woods took their victory against Cypress Falls in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. Does Cypress Woods have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cypress Falls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
