Alta is 0-3 against East since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Alta Hawks are on the road again to play the East Leopards at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Alta focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.

Last Friday, Alta came up short against West Jordan and fell 31-21. The loss was the Hawks' first of the season.

Although Alta took the loss, they still got scores from Trevyn Fabrizio, Ryker Ellis, and Evan Morton.

Alta's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Matt Mckea and Ellis. Ellis is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least four every time he's taken the field this season. Alta got some further help from Bennett Coester: he picked up a sack and made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

East never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mountain Crest last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-23 victory over the Mustangs.

Dameon Crosby was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Crosby wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: East was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Crest only rushed for 136.

Alta's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for East, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Alta couldn't quite finish off East when the teams last played back in September of 2023 and fell 10-7. Can Alta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
