Volleyball Recap: Excelsior Springs Wins Going Away Against Grandview

Excelsior Springs lost to Grandview back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Excelsior Springs took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-7.

Kendalyn Jones was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had eight aces and four digs. Those eight aces gave her a new career-high.

Jones wasn't the only good server: Excelsior Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive matchups.

Excelsior Springs' victory bumped their record up to 5-11-1. As for Grandview, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Excelsior Springs will host Raytown South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grandview, they will take on Paseo Academy of Performing Arts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
