Football Game Preview: Fairview Knights vs. Cherry Creek Bruins + How To Watch

The Fairview Knights will take on the Cherry Creek Bruins at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Fairview sitting on nine straight wins and Cherry Creek on 24 (dating back to last season).

Fairview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Arapahoe 78-28. The Knights' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ki Ellison was his usual excellent self, throwing for 308 yards and six TDs while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Toray Davis was Ellison's top target, picking up 146 receiving yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Cherry Creek over Fountain-Fort Carson in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bruins blew the Trojans out of the water with a 56-0 final score. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won ten games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Fairview better keep an eye on Brady Vodicka. He was instrumental in Cherry Creek's win, throwing for 260 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.

Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Cherry Creek, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Things could have been worse for Fairview, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-28 loss to Cherry Creek when the teams last played back in November of 2019. Thankfully for the Knights, Jayle Stacks (who rushed for 199 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
