Recap: Shepherd Pirates vs. Crockett Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Shepherd Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to Crockett on the road by a decisive 48-33 margin. While losing is never fun, Shepherd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 791st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 349th).
When it comes to explaining why Shepherd lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tristen Cullum. Despite the final result, he scored four points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Shepherd's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Crockett, they pushed their record up to 24-6 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home.
Shepherd will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Crockett, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Onalaska focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
