Football Recap: Shore Regional Piles Up the Points Against Long Branch

Shore Regional got themselves on the board against Long Branch on Friday, but Long Branch never followed suit. They breezed past the Green Wave to the tune of 27-0. The Blue Devils pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Green Wave had little chance of recovering from.

Cole Torres was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.

Shore Regional has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points this season. As for Long Branch, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Shore Regional wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-21 loss against Manasquan on the 20th. As for Long Branch, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-24 defeat against Colts Neck on the 20th.
