Volleyball Recap: Sotomayor Beats Warren for Their Fifth Straight Win

Sotomayor hadn't done well against Warren recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The WILDCATS narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Warriors 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the WILDCATS sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Sotomayor was led to victory by Julieta Munoz and Jalyne Garcia. Munoz had 21 assists and 13 digs, while Garcia had 17 digs and one assist. Munoz is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Sotomayor's victory bumped their record up to 21-18. As for Warren, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-22 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sotomayor and Warren will both be playing Harlan the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the WILDCATS will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
