Softball Recap: Mortimer Jordan Has No Trouble Against Bibb County

Mortimer Jordan's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Bibb County Choctaws 9-2.

Alyssa Hays A. tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Keeton White was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Leah Wangaard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mortimer Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive matchups.

The win got Mortimer Jordan back to even at 15-15. As for Bibb County, they dropped their record down to 8-18 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Mortimer Jordan will be playing in front of their home fans against Elmore County at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Bibb County, they will head out on the road to challenge Calera at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Choctaws are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
