Palos Verdes and Santiago squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Palos Verdes had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Sharks. The Sea Kings' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Palos Verdes started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-14.

Palos Verdes' loss dropped their record down to 18-10-1. As for Santiago, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-8.

Palos Verdes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santiago, they will challenge Woodcrest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Royals will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Sharks surely won't give up without a fight.
