Volleyball Recap: Phil Campbell Comes Up Short

Phil Campbell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hamilton Aggies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Phil Campbell sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 24-26, 15-5.

Avery Cummings paced Phil Campbell's offense, picking up six kills. Cummings got some help from Roxi Molina and her 11 assists.

Phil Campbell's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hamilton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Phil Campbell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Mars Hill Bible on the 23rd. As for Hamilton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Belgreen on the 23rd.
