Softball Game Preview: Camden Fairview Cardinals vs. Hamburg Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Camden Fairview Cardinals challenge Hamburg Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Camden Fairview and three for Hamburg.

Camden Fairview fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Arkadelphia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Badgers by a score of 4-3.

Hamburg had taken Crossett down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Lions fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3.

M Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Melody Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. M Denmon also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Camden Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Camden Fairview suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Hamburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
