Baseball Recap: Dallastown Comes Up Short

Dallastown fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Northeastern on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Sam Forry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cade Flinchbaugh was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Kessler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Dallastown's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Northeastern, they pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Dallastown will face off against Dover at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northeastern, they will square off against Central Dauphin East at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
