Recap: Pickens Blue Flame vs. Easley Green Wave
The Pickens Blue Flame's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-42 walloping at the hands of Easley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pickens has suffered since December 14, 2023.
Pickens lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Mock, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals. Brooks Dow was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Easley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from RJ Stack, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and eight blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Drey Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.
Pickens has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Easley, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Pickens will head out on the road to face off against Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 921 points over their last 14 contests. As for Easley, they will be playing at home against Berea at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berea is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
