Recap: Valley vs. Manteca
The Valley Vikings had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let Manteca onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. The result kept Valley happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 5th.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Angel Ayala and
Edgar Vega, who scored both of Valley's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 21 so far this season.
Valley pushed their record up to 21-4-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matchups. As for Manteca, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17-1.
Valley will face off against East Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Valley is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in California (they are ranked 104th, while East Union is ranked 351st). Manteca does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
