Softball Recap: Inderkum's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Inderkum fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Woodcreek on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 3-2. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Emily Jacobus spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Inderkum saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Collins, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Inderkum's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Woodcreek, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Coincidentally, Inderkum and Woodcreek will both be playing Rio Americano the next time they take the field. The Timberwolves will head out to face the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
