Softball Recap: Mumford Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mumford couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shiner Comanches on Thursday.

Mumford's loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Shiner, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

While Mumford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
