Garrett lost to Lakeland back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Railroaders walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Lakers.

Ashlee Vanderbosch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Sarah DePew was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 games.

Garrett's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Lakeland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Garrett is set to face off against their familiar foe Central Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Railroaders 4.1, the Cougars 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lakeland will challenge rival West Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
