It's playoff time, and Haleyville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with  an   8-4  win over the Hokes Bluff Eagles  on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Eagles  on Friday, they had to take a  8-7  loss.
 Cooper McNutt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   ten  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI. What's more,  he posted two  doubles, the most he's  had since back in March.
 In other batting news,  Brody Armstrong was  excellent,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.  Carson Gilbert was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Haleyville is  on a roll lately: they've  won 20 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hokes Bluff,  with the  defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-13.
Haleyville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
