Basketball Recap: Juarez-Lincoln Comes Up Short

Juarez-Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss. They lost 66-40 to the Mission Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-30 back in December of 2024.

Leading Mission to victory were Jared Castro and Leon Villarreal. Castro posted 24 points, while Villarreal had 22 points. Villarreal is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Pablo Trevino, who put up eight points.

Juarez-Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Mission, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Juarez-Lincoln will head out on the road to challenge Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Juarez-Lincoln is facing Mission Veterans Memorial at the right time seeing as Mission Veterans Memorial is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mission, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rio Grande City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season.
