Softball Game Preview: Warsaw Tigers vs. Perry Yellowjackets

The Warsaw Tigers will face off against the Perry Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Warsaw's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Perry has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Warsaw is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hornell a 13-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

The result came thanks to Olivia Parker's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Kaitlyn Treutlein was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Zoe Kaminski, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Warsaw kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Perry came up short against Pavilion on Tuesday and fell 11-7.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Warsaw, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Warsaw was able to grind out a solid win over Perry when the teams last played back in March, winning 10-6. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
