Baseball Game Preview: Brookfield Central Lancers vs. Germantown Warhawks

For the second straight game, Brookfield Central will face off against Germantown. The Lancers will challenge the Warhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Brookfield Central's last matchup with Germantown could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Lancers lost 7-1 to the Warhawks. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lancers couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Germantown's part, Evan Lauer tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave Lauer a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Ty Olszewski was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Demichiel, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Germantown and bumps their season record up to 12-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Brookfield Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
