Baseball Game Preview: Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils vs. Big Spring Bulldogs

Greencastle-Antrim has gone a perfect 10-0 against Big Spring recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Blue Devils will host the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Greencastle-Antrim 3.6, Big Spring 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Greencastle-Antrim barely beat Spring Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils blew past the Rockets 17-4 on Thursday. Considering the Blue Devils have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Greencastle-Antrim let Avery Horst and Landon Myers run wild. Horst went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Myers went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Horst a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JD Flynn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Greencastle-Antrim always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Big Spring had just enough and edged out Susquenita 3-2 on Saturday.

Big Spring's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Greencastle-Antrim took their win against Big Spring in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 21-3 score. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
