Baseball Recap: Thomas Stone Comes Up Short

Thomas Stone had lost six straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it seven. They came up short against the Westlake Wolverines, falling 21-11. Even if the Cougars couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Westlake's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Westlake's part, Larelle Edwards was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Bryson Saunders was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Thomas Stone will challenge Patuxent at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Westlake, they will face off against St. Charles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Westlake is facing St. Charles at the right time seeing as St. Charles is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
