Baseball Recap: Payson Longhorns vs. Show Low Cougars        
        
		
            
 Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell just short of the Show Low Cougars by a score of  8-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Payson of the  14-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  last Saturday.
 Payson got a good showing from  Daiton LeBlanc, who   tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned run off   two  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Zach Young made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cutter Landress, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 On Show Low's side,  Nick Hall was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Tyson Threadgill, who  went 1-for-4 with a  home run and two  runs.
 Payson's loss dropped their record down to 4-18-1. As for Show Low, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
 Payson has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Winslow at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Winslow is coming into the  game with eight straight  victories on the road,  so Payson will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum. As for Show Low, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Ridge at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Show Low is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.1  runs per game  this season.
