Football Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Heritage Academy's offense. They were outmatched by the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans and fell 35-0. The Heroes were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in August of 2019.

Kacey Mosby threw for 77 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Kaelan Williams was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Nicholas Arteaga rushed for 29 yards.

Will Ryken had an outrageously good game for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy as he rushed for 142 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 48 yards and one touchdown. Connor Gust made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Having lost for the first time this season, Heritage Academy fell to 2-1. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Heritage Academy and Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Heroes are set to square off against their familiar foe Highland Prep West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will face off against rival Parker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
