Softball Recap: Mount Si Comes Up Short

Mount Si extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 4-6. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Inglemoor Vikings. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Jenna Nowak (2027) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

As for Inglemoor, their win bumped their record up to 5-7. The game was the first time they have beaten Mount Si on their field since April 22, 2023.

On Inglemoor's side, the result came thanks to Malin Homes (2028)'s shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. Homes (2028) has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Campbell Looney (2029) was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Emilie Desilet (2026) also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Mount Si will host Woodinville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Inglemoor, they will head out to challenge Issaquah at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
