Basketball Recap: Lee County's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lee County waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 63-50 win over the Jonesboro Cardinals.

Lee County had a senior duo take command as Matthew Hardwick went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight boards and Braden Moore went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points. Moore continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Kameron Sanders was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 15 points.

Lee County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jonesboro still got an impressive performance from Cortez Redding, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 20 points. That's the most points Redding has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadarius Slaton, who posted six points.

Lee County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Jonesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Lee County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-29 victory against Northside on the 4th. As for Jonesboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-53 win against Morrow on the 3rd.
