Recap: Progreso Red Ants vs. IDEA Frontier College Prep
The Progreso Red Ants have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season. They took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 62-26 win over IDEA Frontier College Prep. With Progreso ahead 40-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Progreso to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Pecina, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. That makes it 22 consecutive games in which Pecina has scored at least 25% of Progreso's points. Lorena Cerda was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Progreso is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for IDEA Frontier College Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lyford the next time they take the court. Progreso will head out to face Lyford at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while IDEA Frontier College Prep will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
