Baseball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Independence challenged Central Hinds Academy on Monday. The Wildcats fell 5-1 to the Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 10-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Independence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Independence and nudges their season record down to 9-4. As for Central Hinds Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Independence has already played their next game, a 7-0 defeat against Pascagoula on the 10th. As for Central Hinds Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Aloysius at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
