League recap: Thomas overpowering for Parker in past week

5A Area 8 league recap: 3/8/13

5A Area 8's top pitcher this week was Parker's Timothy Thomas. He won one game and struck out 13 batters.

Pleasant Grove outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Spartans beat Hayden 5-1.

The Thundering Herd's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 28 hits and 44 walks to lead the league in both categories.

Parker stole 22 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 71 steals on the year.

Ronald Bell drove in seven runs for the Thundering Herd over the past seven days. He has 20 RBIs this season, tops in the league.
